If you've been to a few of the 4pm classes in the last few weeks, you may have seen a familiar face coaching! In today's blog, we are going to learn some more about Coach Nate!
1. How did you get started on your fitness journey?
I would have to say football pretty much started it all. Specifically, when I was done with college football. I needed something to stay competitive in and feel good about the way I looked and felt! CrossFit was just that and the rest is history.
2. What motivates you?
Honestly, feeling good is probably what motivates me the most. The feeling of having a good workout and feeling good throughout the day is what keeps me coming back time and time again.
3. What are your biggest struggles?
Snacking and prioritizing my sleep!
4. What is your biggest fitness accomplishment?
I think the year was 2016 or 2017 at the Granite Games, a team of 3 CrossFit competition. We were definitely not going to the podium or anything, but there was a 5k, 3 man row event, on the second day and the odds were pretty stacked against us. We started out slow. Close to around the 2k mark, we switched strategies and ended up winning the event. It was awesome!!
5. What made you want to become a coach?
Sharing the feeling of what CrossFit gives me. I want to be able to share that feeling with others!
6. Pet peeves in class?
When I'm in the middle of a warm up and I have to use the bathroom. The worst!
7. Favorite/least favorite movements?
In the middle of a WOD and there is power cleans, that is my least favorite. I love the gymnastics movements and the snatch!
8. Current fitness/life goal?
To maintain my current aerobic base but also be 10 pounds heavier!
9. Who inspires you, your role model?
The person who inspires me most would be my fiance. She opened up her store in the middle of a pandemic and is killing it. I want to be a boss like her. Also, my 4.5 pound morkie, who is always way too happy to see us whether it's us being gone 5 minutes or 5 days.
10. Most memorable coaching moment?
I was watching Jen fight with the snatch movement during a class. We touched on just a couple things and a minute later she hit a PR and it looked fricken’ awesome. Little moments like that are what it's all about!
